Continuous Process Improvement
To maintain their competitive advantage organizations must streamline their operations and processes. Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) is a strategic approach for developing a culture of continuous improvement in the areas of reliability, process cycle times, costs in terms of less total resource consumption, quality, and productivity. Deployed effectively, it increases quality and productivity, while reducing waste and cycle time. Since many business processes rely on information and participation from more than one department and even different organizations, CPI is designed to facilitate these processes by integrating the various components into one streamlined system that runs smoothly and efficiently on a partially or completely automated flow of steps. During CPI, business maps are defined by each layer for Core and Enabling Processes. Each process is standardized and stabilized and enabled by the essential Business IT systems within an organization. This approach seeks to optimize end-to-end work-flows in the most efficient and effective manner rather than to be defined by functional or departmental boundaries. PBSI has developed a unique approach to implementing CPI for our clients. By following an integrated approach of Change Management and Process Improvement methodologies, the Organization is mapped, and all related details of the business rules, policies, roles and responsibilities are Documented, Standardized, Measured and where appropriate, Optimized. The improved processes and business information are then compiled into a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP,) which forms the foundation of staff training and performance management. Organizational Change is a very important discipline required and is handled with the most care to ensure success. PBSI works with our clients to introduce CPI within their organization and delivers workshops needed to develop the necessary framework and integration components.
