Expert Witness
PBSI can provide forensic experts to review the analytical data of case files to ensure the testing procedures used support the conclusion on the scientific analysis report. Laboratory examination of physical evidence is an expensive undertaking. Most defendants do not have the financial resources to take advantage of their constitutional right to reexamine the physical evidence used against them in a criminal trial. Using PBSI experts to evaluate the laboratory case files and supporting documents provides a less expensive alternative to laboratory examination. Government forensic facilities attempt to provide quality services within the budget and time constraints placed upon them by their sponsoring agency. However, corners have been cut, mistakes have been made and unfortunately results have been altered by examiners in an effort to complete their mission in a timely manner. Using PBSI experts to review the examiner’s case notes, analytical data and supporting documents provides the responding party the opportunity to ensure the examinations were performed correctly and the analytical data support the conclusions and opinions provided.
